Annoying leaking pool hose
For anyone who owns a swimming pool at home, we’ve all experienced it one time or another. A leaking swimming pool hose can be frustrating since the pool is losing water. Now, understanding that every situation is different, but what worked for us may or may not be helpful for others. I just thought to provide a quick solution that can fix a pool hose leak with a few tips.
Our situation
We had purchased a solar swimming pool heater and had connected all the plumbing as instructed. It was frustrating to find one of the hose connector was dripping constantly. This leaking swimming pool hose was causing us to top-off since the pool losing water.
To fix a pool hose leak, we refitted the connectors which is a bit cumbersome with having to deal with water coming out of the filter.
The Solution

We had purchased a solar swimming pool heater and had connected all the plumbing as instructed. It was frustrating to find one of the hose connector was dripping constantly.
To resolve, we tried a few things before coming to our resolution. However, you can try these which could help your situation.
- Make sure all the connectors are installed correctly. Carefully, go through the instructions
- Refit all the connectors to the hose and equipment
- Lastly, make sure all of the connection is tight!
Having spent a few minutes trying to resolve the leaking, it came down to tightening the metal hose clamp much more. That stopped the leaking right away.
Obviously, you’ll need to make sure you have the washers and all the appropriate pieces in place. If there are any damaged pieces, you should be able to get replacement parts from the manufacturer or online.
Our last option was to buy some sort of selant that was waterproof and safe. We were luckily that we didn’t have to take that route.
