One of the best massage chairs in the market in 2020!
I have always wanted a massage chair and finally decided to shop for one. After weeks of research and speaking to people in the industry, I basically settled for the latest Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair.
Following time spent learning about the massage chair industry, nonetheless, it was an eye opener. I started out with a $1,500 budget and decided that it was worth increasing it to get the chair I really want.
In this article, we’ll review the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair in-depth.

My Review
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair is one of the newer chairs in the market for 2020. It is a modified version of the Infinity Overture 4D massage chairs and also very similar to the Infinity Presidential massage chairs. Comparatively, those two massage chairs were excellent, and Osaki made some upgrades just for labeling purpose.
Osaki also carries a 4D massage chair called the OS-Pro Maestro, which is a popular chair. In comparison, the OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair has most of the same core massage features with minor differences between the chairs. Mainly with the aesthetics and nice-to-have features.
Consequently, I’m mentioning this because I struggled finding reviews since the Osaki Paragon was so new. By knowing how the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon is comparable to the Infinity chairs, it allowed me to have some level of expectations without seeing it in person.
TGR Review Summary
What I like
- Heated rollers for back and legs
- Leg rest offers great calves and foot massages
- 4D massage rollers
- Point and partial massage
- Space saver
- Ease of assembly
- Price is reasonable
- Superior Massage experience
- Seating position is adjustable including Zero Gravity
What I don’t like
- The remote control is wired, much prefer a wireless remote, its buttons does not light up in the dark and the menu is not intuitive
- Voice Recognition has limited voice commands
Look & Style
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage chair is available in 4 colors (Beige, Black, Dark Grey and Dark Brown). I ended up getting the black and it’s really nice.
The chair was not bulky, and is compact. It does have a space saver feature which allows the chair to be tucked away in a corner without being an eyesore. In addition, the design is very modern as shown in the photos. It also supports anyone with a height of 5’0 to 6’2, and up to 285 pounds.
Look & Style- TGR Score: 5 out of 5
Shipment & Delivery
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage chair took 8 days to arrive after the order was placed. Also, the massage chair was shipped directly from Osaki Titan’s warehouse in Texas. Once the massage chair left their facility, I received an automated call from CEVA Logistics to schedule for the curbside delivery.
The scheduling and delivery was very smooth. Though we did experience a little hiccup with wanting to switch to white glove delivery last minute. We were unsuccessful even with 24 hours notice. Either way, we were able to receive help moving the massage chair into the home.
Shipment & Delivery – TGR Score: 4 out of 5
Packaging
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage chair was packaged very well. There was enough protective foam and was shipped in three boxes. I think this was great since it made moving them easier.
The entire freight was 390 lbs, with the main chair weighing 220 lbs outside of the box. Therefore, I would highly encourage anyone to have enough help to move the massage chair. Its recommended that two people install the massage chair.
Packaging – TGR Score: 5 out of 5
User Manual
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair included a smaller box which contained the remote control, instruction manual and remote control cable.
With the User Manual, it included assembly instructions with illustrations. You would have to pay extra attention to details since the text did not easily capture everything.
I found the User Manual to lack details for the remote control. While it does list all the features, it was not clear on what each feature on the remote control does. For instance, the Auto Mode has a Special menu which is a submenu of the Auto mode. It was not clear on what the difference is between “Relax” and “Calming” or “Recover” vs “Revive“? I also had to figure out how to use the POINT feature and 4D massages. The manual did not provide any instructions on these things. Lastly, the Osaki Pro OS-4D Massage chair has Body Scan Technology, I was under the impression we could set this manually. However, I only took noticed that the remote was doing this automatically when the screen read “scanning body”.
User Manual- TGR Score: 3 out of 5
Assembly and Setup
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair assembly time is approximately between 20-30 minutes. Regardless, it is recommended for two people to install the chair, and specifically for moving the chair to its desired location. I was able to install the chair independently.
There are four main pieces, so once they are all put together, it’s ready to go. For step-by-step instructions, watch my YouTube video for full details.
Ease of Assembly- TGR Score: 5 out of 5

Voice Recognition
The voice recognition feature can be enabled once the massage chair powered on. I did try it while I was standing away from the chair with no luck. The trick is to make sure you speak directly into the microphone on the left side of the arm rest. In addition, the design assumes you’ll be providing commands while sitting down, which makes sense.
The voice recognition mode, are limited to the following commands as long as the voice activation speech mode is on. (It shuts off after a few seconds, requiring you to speak directly into the microphone again).
- Chinese Massage (this is the same as “Recover” on the remote control)
- Pain relief
- Body stretches
- Experience
- Relaxation
- Zero Gravity Start
- Voice off
- Massage chair shutdown
This is a useful feature for when you’re relaxed and want to avoid reaching for the remote control. You can simply turn your neck to speak into the microphone and issue a few commands. It received a 3 rating simply because it does what it’s suppose to. However, the limited voice commands takes away from what could have been a great feature. I personally would have loved to been able to adjust the massage intensity or point focused massages without having to grab the remote.
4D Massage
When I was looking at the massage chairs, at minimal, I needed a chair that had 3D rollers. Moreover, it was very important the chair can do true deep tissue massages with heavy pressure. With 4D, it takes it to another level. The rollers protrude, allowing you to control depth and speed based on your body. Overall, The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon does an excellent job in this area. You’re definitely going to get your money’s worth. There are four levels of 4D protrusion intensity and 5 speed to loosen those tight muscles. Hence, I am extremely happy with this extra feature. I can’t say more than enough.
4D Massage- TGR Score: 5 out of 5
L-Track with the Heated Back Roller Massage
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon has an L-Track massage system that extends from your neck to the back of your thighs. Particularly, there is one distinct feature compared to most chairs today is the rollers are setup to be multi-angled, to give more massage area. Osaki claims this allows for 50% more massage than the average S-Track chairs. In addition, the heated back rollers are one of the best features. It feels like hot stones and enhances the massage experience. Hence, I always turn on them on whenever I use the chair.
L-Track w/ Heated Back Roller Massage- TGR Score: 5 out of 5
Body Scan Technology
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon is advertised to perform a body scan to map the key areas of the neck and back. Additionally, the massage chair will be able to determine the right amount of pressure to apply. I personally am not sure how effective this is. So the only gauge I have is the remote control will have a message that appears “body scanning” when you switch to certain programs and there are some movement which indicates the massage rollers are calibrating and adjusting. But just not enough for me to provide any assessment. Therefore, I cannot provide any score.
Body Scan Technology- TGR Score: N/A
Foot Rest Massage
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon has reflexology-like massages. Particularly, this is one of the features that captured my attention, as massage chairs at best just have dual rollers. The rollers on the Osaki Pro Paragon are heated and are shaped to provide great foot massages. Nevertheless, the foot rest is amazing and also has a foot cover, extends and retracts within 8.7” automatically. Furthermore, the ottoman will scan the legs to ensure the proper leg length for the user’s height.
The Calf, Bridge, Knee & Heel Massage is a great added feature. Specifically, the upper part of the leg rest will trigger the air massage for the calves to rotate in circular motion. I personally would recommend wearing pants, since the airbags can squeeze your calves tight and cause pain when going in circular motion.
In the lower portion of the leg rest, it can stretch and massage the bridge and heel of the foot. This provides an excellent leg and foot massage.
I unquestionably enjoy this feature and find it very accomodating since you are able to adjust the intensity. Hence, I would recommend wearing socks, just in-case the pressure is too strong.
Foot Rest Massage, TGR Score: 5 out of 5
Zero Gravity
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon has Zero Gravity feature. Zero Gravity brings the knees above the chest and optimizes blood flow. According to NASA Space Capsule Relax Theory, it increases force from the body and massage chair. This suppose to help with reducing heart and spine pressure allowing maximum relaxation experience.
Particularly, I prefer Zero Gravity, and find it very relaxing by nature. Similiarily as you would be laying flat when a real person is massaging you. This is a added benefit, as suggested above. I undoubtedly enjoy the massages much more in Zero Gravity position.
The standard number of positions for massage chair is between 1 and 3. For the Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon, it appears to be listed as 1. However, I wanted to make this clear since I was not so sure when shopping around. While the massage chair has 1 Zero Gravity position, it can be recline and three multi-angle sections can be adjusted. Users can adjust the backrest and leg rest as needed. This is a very nice feature, and it does offer the user many positions to enjoy massages.
Zero Gravity, TGR Score: 5 out of 5
Space Saving
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon is truly a space saver compared to other full-sized massage chairs. It only requires clearance of 3 inches from the wall, and 20 inches for the footrest.
Space Saving, TGR Score: 5 out of 5
Bluetooth Speaker and USB Slot
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon has speakers on the left and right arm rests near the head area. Overall, the quality is mediocre at best. I wouldn’t say the sound is anything to brag about. However, it’ll do just fine for relaxing music. It’s really easy to setup, by enabling bluetooth on your phone and pairing as you normally would any other bluetooth device. There’s also a USB slot near the armrest which you can plug your phone in to charge while getting a massage.
Bluetooth Speaker and US Slot, TGR Score: 3 out of 5
LED Remote
The Osaki OS-4D Pro Paragon includes a wired LED remote and leaves much to be desired. While the remote has many menu options, it will take time getting use to. The User Manual does very little in explaining how to use the remote and the remote does not light up in the dark making it difficult to see. Then there’s also the beeping sound that you cannot turn off. Therefore, there’s a beep sound each time you press a button on the remote control.
Overall, it will give you all that you need to control the massage chair. I would have much prefer a wireless remote, but on the positive side, you won’t lose it since its attached to the massage chair. It’s a matter of personal preference.
Space Saving, TGR Score: 3 out of 5
Features Performance
All massages will be set with a default timer of 10 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes. You can extend your massages by going back to the menu on the remote control and selecting the time desired again.
13 Auto Massage Programs
There are a total of 13 Auto Massage Programs. Recover, Relief, Stretch, Soft, Renew Calming and Special. While the “Special” program, there are Refresh, Energy, Revive, Active, Relax and Healing.
The program names aren’t very clear; the user manual doesn’t go into detail about what each program does. For instance, I’m not really sure what the difference is between Recover verses Revive.
While spending time trying each program, they are all unique with a combination of massage techniques from Kneading, Knocking Tapping, Shiatu and Kneading & Tapping and Stretching. Nonetheless, you will just need to spend time figuring out what you like best. They are all great programs in their own respect.
Manual Programs
One of my favorite features of the Osaki Pro Paragon 4D massage chair is its manual programs. In addition, it allows for point or partial-point massages. I am able to work on a targetted area on my body for as long as I need. Furthermore, there are manual adjustments such as setting the airbag intensity, 5 levels of massage intensity, speed and 4 levels of 4D massage intensity. You are also able to turn on or off the heat, and rollers.
Now for the negative, the menu for the manual program isn’t as intuitive for users, speaking from personal opinion. If you wanted to incorporate the 4D massage, you would have to exit out the screen and go back and select 4D+ on the menu. Then go back into the program to ensure that the 4D rollers have been initated. It would take some getting use to before you’re fully able to figure out how to use the manual feature.
Airbags
These are 2nd generation airbags. In other words, it’s multi-layered and stiched. Furthermore, it allows for more firmer grip and very durable. It is equipped with plenty of airbags offering full-body air bag massages. Additionally, you can adjust the intensity, up to 5 levels.
Stretching
This is one of my favorite features of this massage chair. There is also a program specifically for stretching. It allows twisting of the hip and extending (bridging) of the legs and back. You can especially feel it when the massage chair tugs your feet.
Feature Performance, TGR Score: 4.5 out of 5
A great massage chair for the price
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon is an excellent massage chair. It has many of the core features that a $10,000 massage chair would have. You will experience high premium massages and I’m extremely happy with this purchase. If you’re shopping around, you’ll find that most of the 4D Massage Chairs are closer to $8,000 to $10,000. The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon is a great buy because it’s a premium quality 4-D massage chair without the $10,000 price tag. Of course, there’s some tradeoffs. The chair lacks some of the bells and whistles which many hobbyists would drool for. Things like more automated programs, some going up to 34 different types. They will still utilize the different massage techniques (knocking, tapping etc.,), but in different programming variations.
A more expensive massage chair may also support more body type ranges, and if I know who will be using the chair, this eliminates the use of having such flexibility. The more expensive chairs may also have better sound quality, more USB ports and chromotherpy. I personally wouldn’t make use of all those extra features to justify spending that kind of money. For a similar chair, with the extra bells and whistles, you should consider the Osaki OS-4D Pro Maestro.
What Makes the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Great
The Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair is like other massage chairs, it has a lot of moving mechanics and has noise when operating. However, in comparison to some of the other ones I’ve sat in, it’s not the noisest.
What makes the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair a great all-around massage chair is the quality massages it gives. It’s focused is more on the quality of massage and lesser on the “nice-to-have” features. Therefore, if you care about a great massage experience, then this is what this massage chair will offer. It offers such great massages, from the head down to the toes. I did notice the user manual indicated rollers for the head, but nowhere did Osaki mention there are head massages. Surprisingly, I felt the rollers in the middle of my head during the “Recover” mode and was satisfied with its performance. Perhaps, this would have been the “neck” for taller folks? I’m not sure, but I’m average height and the rollers stopped in the middle of my head offering a very relaxing massage. Also, the auto-scanning technology should have come to play here.
In Closing
One other great thing about the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair is that it’s made by a trusted company. Osaki Titan has been in the industry for many years and have very solid warranty. Earlier, prior to selecting the Osaki Pro Paragon, I had my eye on the RELAXONCHAIR chairs. Particularly, their latest MK-ION chair which is 3D at $2,999. It seemed to be comparetively equal in terms of the features with the more expensive chairs and had plenty of solid reviews on Amazon.
I have no doubt they are decent chairs, with 3 years warranty, but I could not come to terms with an off brand when spending $3,000+. Obviously, the money you’re paying is to receive quality support years later when the massage chair start to have issues. Though I’m sure RELAXONCHAIR will start to gain traction and become a serious player in the market. I was just more comfortable going with a company that has been in the game for as long as Osaki has. RELXONCHAIR does receive honorable mention since it has done a great job thus far with some of its chairs. Consequently, many seem to be happy with its product and at a fair price.

HONORABLE MENTIONS
These are RELAXONCHAIR top two selling massage chairs (with excellent 4 star ratings).
RELAXONCHAIR
The two other Osaki Massage Chairs I looked at that were more or less similar to the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair is the Osaki OS-Pro Admiral and the Osaki OS-Pro Maestro 4D Chair.
If you’re looking for a more affordable Osaki chair, but comparable, the OS-Pro Admiral is a 3D chair is a good option.
For a similiar massage chair with more features, and has 4D capabilities, the Osaki OS-Pro Maestro 4D chair is a good choice.
It’s worth taking a look at both and decide what fits your budget situation best.
OTHER OSAKI TITAN CHAIRS
All of these chairs have many different color options, click on the Price Check button to view them.
Comparatively, for anyone who may have sat in a massage chair at the mall (exact photo below), the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair is so many levels above them. I personally have always sat in these mall massage chairs whenever I get the chance to. It offers quick relief and buys time while the family shops around. Certainly, I would not even bother now since I have the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon at home.
In closing, the Osaki Pro OS-4D Paragon Massage Chair so far has exceeded my expectations. I have been using it very frequently and it has helped me solve some chronic back and neck pain already. This was a very important investment, and I’m glad I did enough research to find a massage chair that suits my need.
Come back occasionally for more updates as I will post them after using the chair for a while!

I’m very happy to discover this website. I wanted to thank you for your time for this particularly wonderful read!! Osaki Pro Paragon looks like a great massage chair. I’ll be looking at this for xmas!
This post is truly a pleasant one to read. For many years Osaki has manufactured quality massage chairs and sounds like they are still at the top of their game! Great read.
Its good as your other blog posts :D, thank you for putting up. Do you have any other massage chairs you think is worth looking into? I see you already listed a few like Relaxon, but they are a bit outside my budget.
I actually have the same chair and its a great investment. I just cant stand the remote not being backlit, but overall I’m happy with the osaki paragon also. Thanks for writing this up.
This is a very well written article. There’s so much more that I learned about massage chairs here than any other site! Now that you’ve used this massage chair for a while, any updates?
Hey Cody! Yes, i still this massage chair almost everyday and still think it’s one of the best investments for my health. This chair runs in the $6,000 range and so far it’s worth it since I use it so much. I think I’ll earn back my investment after the years up since I use to visit a massage professional often.
Completely Concur. Amazing chair with almost everything except a shoddy remote. I could not find the app in google play. If you happen to look at the comment and know can you please let me know. Your review was a great input in making the decision.
Hi Kumar, the app is actually presidential chair brand and a few other osaki massage chair apps that will work with this model. I was not able to find the Osaki Paragon brand. It’s probably in the making, but they should not have advertise its available when its not. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
You have made some decent points there. I checked on the web for additional information about the issue and found most individuals will go along with your views on this web site. The Osaki Pro OS-4D Massage is what I just bought too! Great chair!
Hey Ruben, no worries. Glad that you got the chair. It’s a great massage chair!
